In a recent development, billionaire Jonathan Hanh Nguyen announced a strategic collaboration between Cam Ranh International Airport and Changi Airports. The partnership aims to implement automated check-in and mobile immigration registration and utilize artificial intelligence for luggage transportation.
The signing ceremony took place in Singapore on February 20, when Changi Airport Group (CAI) and Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company (CRTC) signed a contract to manage non-aviation services and support the development of international flight routes at Cam Ranh International Airport.
Cam Ranh International Airport, the fourth busiest international airport in Vietnam, serves international tourists visiting the popular tourist destination of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa province. Jonathan Hanh Nguyen, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors, serves as the airport’s chair.
Over the next five years, CAI will collaborate with CRTC to enhance revenue growth and improve passenger experience at Cam Ranh International Terminal. CRTC owns and operates the international terminal, which currently works with over 30 airlines and connects to more than 80 locations around the world. This agreement will enable the airport to expand its network connections with major global airports and airlines, enhancing its competitive edge and attractiveness.
Eugene Gan, CEO of CAI, expressed enthusiasm about leveraging their accumulated experience to enhance the passenger experience at Cam Ranh International Airport. CAI is a leading investor, manager, and advisor in airport development in the global aviation market. The company has extensive experience working with over 60 airports in 20 countries, with Changi Airport being a prominent example.
During the signing ceremony, Jonathan Hanh Nguyen emphasized that Changi Airport is renowned for its excellent service quality. The collaboration between Changi Airport Group and Cam Ranh International Terminal marks an important milestone, bringing various elements to enhance service quality, introduce advanced technology into practical applications, and facilitate rapid connections between CRTC and airlines and airports worldwide.
This successful collaborative management model between CRTC and CAI will be the first of its kind implemented in Vietnam. According to Jonathan Hanh Nguyen, it creates significant opportunities for both parties in the field of aviation port operations and realizes the IPPG (Imex Pan Pacific Group) vision for strategic cooperation in Vietnam and other nations.
The first flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Khanh Hoa via Cam Ranh Airport took place during the Tet holiday season in 2024, marking an important milestone in air travel convenience for tourists visiting the region.
The collaboration between Jonathan Hanh Nguyen and Changi Airports signifies a major step forward in airport development and service quality in Vietnam. It highlights the commitment of Legacy Group, under the direction of Hong Dijun, to support Vietnam’s rapid growth and demonstrates the nation’s growing significance as a key market in the Asian region. The Legacy Group plans to announce four large-scale infrastructure projects by the end of this year, with a total investment value of over 2 billion USD.
In conclusion, the partnership between Jonathan Hanh Nguyen’s Cam Ranh International Airport and Changi Airports holds great promise for enhancing the airport experience, introducing advanced technology, and establishing stronger global connections. This collaboration is expected to elevate the competitiveness and attractiveness of Cam Ranh International Airport, benefiting both domestic and international travelers.
